AERODYNAMIC AND LIGHTWEIGHT
When developing the new Aerolight we had a clear goal: to create a frame with aerodynamic lines, maintaining a low weight and a high level of stiffness, essential features of any competition bike. The carbon lay-up has been fully optimised, with the thickness of each point being studied to achieve the best possible stiffness-to-weight ratio.
Additionally, using the HCIM (Hollow Core Internal Moulding) manufacturing technique, we have created a frame without any internal imperfections and we have achieved optimum compaction. Less material means lower weight, but not lower performance.
The result is a frame with aero lines which weighs just 950 grams.
AIR BOW FORK
The eye-catching shape of the BH Aerolight's fork is part of the Air Bow concept that has allowed us to improve the overall aerodynamics of the bike, which we also apply to the rear seat stay. The size of the inner area between the wheel and fork has been maximised with the aim of making the air flow between these two parts. Thanks to the additional space, air resistance is reduced, generating less turbulence.
The result on the road? The new BH Aerolight has reduced drag by 15.9% (the force on the bicycle as it travels through the air). This results in a saving of 5 W at high speed.
Additionally, the Air Bow curved design helps to eliminate the vibrations caused by tarmac, giving you greater control and comfort as you ride, without affecting performance.
KAMM TAIL
The lines of its frame and its tubes feature the Kamm Tail shape already used in the past and now applied everywhere possible on the bike. The aim is to give every tube a teardrop-shaped section with a cut-off at the end, the best solution for achieving optimal aerodynamic effectiveness.
FULL INTEGRATION
The new cockpit is fully integrated, forming a block of continuous lines with the steering tube which, together with the fully internal cabling, also improves its aerodynamics and the way it looks. This integrated design is also reflected in the seat post and its built-in locking system, which adds stiffness and helps to improve the aerodynamics. There are plenty of features, like BH Quick Release, the wheel lock with a fully concealed lever which requires no tools.
